John’s Story

Back in 2014 – before the joys of family life, John had a stable, corporate career but knew this wasn’t his purpose. The same year he quit the corporate world, sold everything and went on a global voyage, with just $1k to his name. He visited major cities and was inspired by the buzzing entrepreneurial scenes.

Returning home to Prague, John wasted no time setting up a freelance business providing Facebook Advertising services for high-spending e-commerce clients. With huge success, he transformed his client’s revenue considerably…growing businesses from $500 per day to $200k per day in under 6 months. He’d found his purpose – to become an entrepreneur and help clients achieve great results.

The very same year, he launched an e-commerce business and with everything set up – customer service, facebook ads strategy, inventory etc, things were going very well.

However, in just the first week, and generating such high volumes of sales his payment provider insisted it the business was growing “too fast, too soon.” Forced to close the business and with $50k of assets held, John’s future was on the line.

Left with no choice, things had to calm down – this was a steep learning curve. So on the back of this, John built a replacement business, generating $1.5m in sales within just 4 months of opening. Things had certainly taken a turn.

It became apparent how critical a dedicated customer support team is – the ones on the front line. They represent your brand and can turn first-time happy customers into loyal fans. He also came to realize the importance of nurturing strong supplier relationships, they’re vital to the longevity of any e-commerce business!
